An RS-232 null modem serial cable female-female is required for this procedure.
(where to buy: RS-232 Null Modem Serial Cable) 1. Connect the EnGenius device to your computer with a null modem serial cable. 2. Start a HyperTerminal session: Click Start and then select Programs > Accessories > Communications > HyperTerminal. (Unlike previous Windows versions, Vista does not have this program installed. Go to www.hilgraeve.com/htpe/ to download.) 3. After the HyperTerminal window appears: a. Give this new connection a name. Ex: EOC-8610EXT. b. Select the correct COM port. Ex:COM3.  c. Set baud rate to "57600", data bits to "8", parity to "none", stop bits to "1", and flow control to "None" as the following screen display.  d. Then press “OK” to bring up the HyperTerminal window. 4. Configure the Emulation type and ASCII Setup as below.   5. Click “OK” then the HyperTerminal window will display as the following.  Only capital letters will be accepted. For example: Type "R" (capital R), then hit enter. 6. Type “R” and then hit enter. The device will reset to factory default. |
